Rishikesh is a holy city located in the foothills of the Himalayas in the North Indian state of Uttarakhand. Rishikesh literally means "Sage Hair". Rishikesh is the starting point for Char Dham Yatra which includes Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
