Sangama is the confluence of two rivers – Arkavathi and Cauvery. The waters here are shallow and wide, so you can walk around in the water or take a dip. This place is around 110 km and 2 hours drive from Bangalore. The last 5kms of the drive to Sangama is quite interesting and you also face unexpected bends. The road takes a steep dip into a valley and offers a nice view of the running river. Mekedatu is 4 km from Sangama for which you can take a bus or trek along the river banks as preferred by most. There is a deviation towards left at 5 km before Sangama to reach Chunchi falls. Activities around include trekking, swimming in the river, fishing and safari into Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.
